Has anyone been out to see “The Weed Lady’ in Grand Blanc? I haven’t, but our Suzanne recently made the trek out there and just loved it!
Suzanne brought back a few simple recipes that she thought I would enjoy. They are super simple, and perfect for these hot summer days. I thought I would share them with you.
Mint Iced Tea
Brew 3 green tea bags with 1 quart of boiling water. Add 1/4 c sugar, 1/2 of a lemon sliced and 1 bunch fresh mint, washed. When sugar is dissolved, add 2 cups cold water. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled. Strain mint out before serving. Serve over ice.
Sparking Basil Water
Stir 1/2 c sugar and 1 c water in medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat: add 3/4 oz fresh basil. Cover, let cool completely. Strain syrup; discard herbs. Stir in 1 tsp fresh lemon juice. Refrigerate at least 30 mins. Fill glasses with ice. Add 2-4Tablespoons syrup; top with sparking water or club soda and stir. Serves 8-10
You can visit The Weed Lady at theweedlady.com
Now, this one is my own. I served it during Girlfriend’s Walk Girls Night Out. It was so HOT!! (we now have a/c, thank goodness) Still, this very refreshing. You will feel like you are at the spa!
Cucumber Water
One large pitcher (use one you can see through) filled with cold water and ice. Add one large sliced cucumber. Chill. You can add raspberries, or whatever else you like for a little extra color and flavor
